Public opinion supports ethical investing 'kitemark' - research
By Hannah Godfrey, Professional Adviser
Public opinion supports the introduction of a kitemark-style label to help identify financial products that operate in a sustainable or ethical way, according to research commissioned to mark Good Money Week.
Of the 2,171 adults surveyed, almost two-thirds (63%) backed the idea, while some two-fifths (43%) said it would make them more likely to buy a financial product. The poll also found more than two-thirds (69%) of the public would back a new law requiring financial advisers to ask all customers if they would like to exclude specific sectors or companies from their investments and savings.
