The village of Abergwyngregyn in Snowdonia, North Wales, has formed an Industrial Provident Society to build and manage a 270kw hydro scheme on the Anafon river.  Entirely run by volunteers, the planning group has gained all consents and expects to be generating late 2015. Once generating and providing income, all surplus will be gift aided to a charitable trust in the village to provide grants for worthwhile projects in the local area.

The village is holding a festival, Aber Dabba Doo, in Abergwyngregyn on 13 September, to launch a share issue to enable people to be part of this exciting scheme.

Full details on Aber Dabba Doo and the Share Issue are available online at www.anafonhydro.co.uk
