Many respond with fear and anxiety in the face of current changes in climate and when looking ahead to the inevitable changes that are to come. We are bombarded with messages that we have to change the way we live, while acutely aware that changing to energy saving light bulbs is a drop in the ocean. A desire to help, but feeling disempowered, is leading to a dwindling hope for our future.

ECCR's 25th Anniversary Service & Panel Debate

Jon us at Southwark Cathedral in Good Money Week to celebrate ECCR's 25th Anniversary, to learn about our on-going work and meet with others working to keep faith in finance. 

2 pm - Service of Thanksgiving in the Southwark Cathedral RetroChoir. The preacher will be Rt Revd  Richard Harries (Lord Harries of Pentregarth) - ECCR Patron. Rt Rev William Kenney CP, Auxiliary Bishop of  Birmingham, also ECCR Patron will be participating. Our chair – Rt Rev Michael Doe – will be leading the service.

Ethical Investment Seminar

2.30 - 5 pm

This seminar has been organised to promote pioneers in social and green finance.  As specialists in this field we are familiar with the many great organisations and individuals active in social and environmental finance. We recognise the growing demand for socially responsible finance, post the financial crisis and the gap between that of the wider public and our knowledge.  We will be bringing together four different organisations at one event to educate and inform the wider public of the work we and they do and its significance.

Launch of Community Hydro Share Issue

The village of Abergwyngregyn in Snowdonia, North Wales, has formed an Industrial Provident Society to build and manage a 270kw hydro scheme on the Anafon river.  Entirely run by volunteers, the planning group has gained all consents and expects to be generating late 2015. Once generating and providing income, all surplus will be gift aided to a charitable trust in the village to provide grants for worthwhile projects in the local area.
