One of the businesses leading the way in the win/win economy for local communities is The Resilience Centre, whose first community energy project was funded through Abundance.
The Resilience Centre was established by husband and wife team Andrew and Sue Clarke. Both have extensive experience in the sustainable and environmental business sectors and they used this to pioneer a new Resilient Energy partnership approach to renewable energy projects that is truly win/win.
At the heart of their approach is the creation of positive, fair and equitable relationships between landowner, community and developer – demonstrated with Resilient Energy Great Dunkilns.
The REGD project saw a 500kW turbine become part of not only the landscape but also the community of St Briavels, in the Forest of Dean, in late 2012.
